| Description |
Furfuryl alcohol is primarily used in the production of various types of furan resins, furfuryl alcohol-urea-formaldehyde resins, and phenolic resins, among others. It can also serve as a corrosion-resistant resin, a pharmaceutical raw material, and is used in the preparation of fruit acids, solvents, and plasticizers. Plasticizers derived from furfuryl alcohol exhibit superior cold resistance compared to esters of butanol and octanol. Additionally, it acts as an excellent solvent for furan resins, varnishes, and pigments, and can be used as rocket fuel. Furthermore, it finds applications in synthetic fibers, rubber, pesticides, and the foundry industry. It can also be employed as a corrosion-resistant resin, a pharmaceutical raw material, and in the preparation of fruit acids, solvents, and plasticizers. |
