Shenyang Rubber Research and Design Institute
The Shenyang Rubber Research & Design Institute of China National Tire & Rubber Corporation (Shenyang Rubber for short), a subsidiary of the former Ministry of Chemical Industry, is affiliated with the China National Tire & Rubber Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of China National Chemical Corporation (ChemChina). The Shenyang Rubber was founded in 1958 in the Tiexi district of Shenyang, Liaoning province, covering 150,000 square meters.
Shenyang Rubber has 368 employees, including 146 technicians (19 professorial senior technicians included). The stated-owned enterprise holds total assets of 120 million yuan ($18.8 million) with registered capital of 29.06 million yuan.
Its headquarters covers 4,500-sq-ms scientific research area, 8,000-sq-ms production workshops and 3,000-sq-ms simulation laboratories and equipment processing and maintenance workshops. The production base in Shenyang Economic and Technological Development Zone covers 110,000-sq.-m., including 9,000-sq-m semi-works plant.
Shenyang Rubber is a professional rubber products institution in the nation that focuses on rubber hoses, coated fabrics and sealing products, with its business integrating R&D, design and production. Shenyang Rubber takes a leading position all over the nation for research capability and product quality. It has received more than 800 research rewards, among which more than 100 results were awarded national, provincial or municipal prizes. Shenyang Rubber holds ISO9001-2000 and GJB9001A-2001 certification and API quality certification, has passed a weapons qualification evaluation and acquired a weapons scientific research and production license.
It is a member of the secretariat of China National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rubber and Rubber Products. Several institutions have already been set up, such as the Hoses Technical Subcommittee of China National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rubber and Rubber Products, Coated Fabrics Technical Subcommittee, Quality Supervision and Testing Center of Rubber Hose and Coated Fabrics of Chemical Industry. In 1998, the quality supervision and inspection center of the Institute won authorization as a Quality Supervision and Testing Center of Rubber Hose and Coated Fabrics in the Chemical Industry, and it was also approved as national lab after gaining the certification of CNAL (China National Accreditation Committee Laboratories). Armed with advanced testing research equipment, Shenyang Rubber has the ability to analyze and test the trials in the research and production of civil, industrial and military industries.
