synthetic route
According to public information, 3-chloropropyl methyl ether can be synthesized by the following methods:
Add 90 g (1 mol) of 3-methoxy-1-propanol, 5 g of tetramethylammonium chloride, and 200 mL of cyclohexane into a 500 mL four necked bottle;
Maintain the reaction temperature at 65-70 ° C, slowly add 130.9 g (1.1 mol) of thionyl chloride dropwise, and complete the dropwise process in about 3 hours;
After the dropwise addition is complete, continue to keep warm and stir for 2 hours;
After the reaction is complete, cool down to room temperature and wash the organic phase sequentially with 100 mL of water, 50 mL of saturated sodium bicarbonate solution, and 50 mL of water;
Reduce pressure to recover cyclohexane, then distill and collect the 103-106 ° C fraction;
Obtained 3-methoxy-1-chloropropane with a gas chromatography purity of ≥ 99% and a yield of approximately 97.7%
