Description Colorless crystals or white powder, compound of equal quantity of dextro-rotatory and levo-rotatory tartaric acid, containing one or two molecule crystalline water and losting water when heated to 100癈. Odorless, with acidic taste, stable in air, relative density 1.697. Its solubility in water is (20.60g/100g), in ether is about 1% and 5.01 in ethanol(25癈).
